Caffeinated Bob — Terms of Service & Privacy Policy
1. The Service
Caffeinated Bob (the "Game") is provided by VidSource, LLC, a Nebraska limited liability company ("we," "us," "our"), as free entertainment software, offered "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
The Game's references to "Employees," "Employee Files," "shifts," "Compliance Vouchers," and the like are part of its fiction. Playing the Game does not make you an employee, contractor, or agent of VidSource, LLC, and no employment or other relationship is created.
2. Beta Software
The Game is currently offered as a beta. Features may change or be removed, bugs are expected, and we may reset, migrate, or delete saved progress (including Compliance Vouchers and cosmetic items) at any time, with or without notice, as part of development. We do not guarantee that progress will carry forward from the beta to any later version.
3. Compliance Vouchers
The in-Game currency "Compliance Vouchers" has no real-world monetary value. It cannot be purchased with real money, withdrawn, cashed out, or exchanged for real currency, goods, or services outside the Game, and is earned only through gameplay.
4. Support Payments
You may optionally make a one-time voluntary payment ("Support Payment") through the in-Game "Support the Dev" feature. Support Payments are processed by our third-party payment processor, Stripe, Inc., subject to Stripe's own terms; we never receive or store your card details.
Support Payments are voluntary and non-refundable, except where required by applicable law. A Support Payment does not entitle you to any goods, services, in-Game currency, in-Game item, feature, or other consideration. Support Payments are not charitable contributions, are not made to a nonprofit organization, and are not tax-deductible. By making a Support Payment, you confirm you are authorized to use the payment method provided.
Support Payments are made in U.S. dollars, and we email a receipt to the address you provide. We may decline, cancel, or refund any Support Payment at our discretion, including where we suspect fraud or unauthorized use. If you dispute a Support Payment with your card issuer, we may restrict your access to the Employee File or the Game while the dispute is resolved.
5. Accounts
You may optionally create an account, referred to in-game as an "Employee File", which saves your in-game progress and data. You create one by entering your email address in the Game; we send a one-time sign-in code so your progress follows you to another computer or browser. An account is never required to play the Game, and no password is ever created or stored.
Sign-in is handled for us by a third-party authentication provider, and protected by an automated, invisible check that confirms you're a person and not a bot. Your saved career is stored on our servers under an anonymous account identifier, not your name. See the Privacy Policy below for which providers are involved, what is collected, and how it's used.
Progress Conflicts. If you play without an Employee File, or while signed out of one, your progress is stored locally on that device. If you later sign in — on that device or another — and your account already has progress on file, we decide which version to keep; the other is not guaranteed to carry forward and may not be recoverable. As stated above, Compliance Vouchers have no real-world monetary value, and we are not liable for any loss or discrepancy in Compliance Vouchers or other in-Game progress, however it occurs.
6. Eligibility
Caffeinated Bob is intended for a general audience. You must be at least 13 to create an Employee File, submit feedback with your email, or otherwise give us your email address. You must be at least 18 (or the age of majority where you live) to make a Support Payment; if you are younger, a parent or guardian must make it for you using their own payment method. If we learn a child under 13 has given us personal information, we will delete it — contact us at the address below.
7. Sanctions & Export Compliance
By making a Support Payment, you represent that you are not located in, and are not a national or resident of, any country subject to a U.S. government embargo, and are not on any U.S. government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
8. Intellectual Property
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to play the Game for your own non-commercial entertainment, subject to these Terms.
The Game and its protectable content, including its software, art, music, writing, and design, are owned by or licensed to VidSource, LLC and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, reverse-engineer, or redistribute the Game except as expressly permitted by us in writing.
9. Acceptable Use
You agree not to: (a) use bots, scripts, or automated tools to play the Game or access our servers; (b) circumvent the bot check, rate limits, or any security measure; (c) tamper with saved progress on our servers, or exploit bugs to gain an unfair advantage; (d) make Support Payments with a payment method you are not authorized to use, or dispute a Support Payment you knowingly made; (e) interfere with the Game's operation or other players' use of it; or (f) use the Game for any unlawful purpose.
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE GAME IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE GAME WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE.
11. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, VIDSOURCE, LLC AND ITS OWNERS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE GAME. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE GAME SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE TOTAL AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) $100 USD.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or the limitation of certain damages, so some of the above may not apply to you. In those jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted by law.
12. Changes
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Game, or these Terms, at any time. If we make a material change to these Terms, you will be asked to re-accept them before continuing to use the Game.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Nebraska, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Game shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Nebraska, and you consent to their jurisdiction.
Before filing a claim against us, you agree to contact us at the address below and give us 30 days to try to resolve it informally. To the extent permitted by law, you and VidSource, LLC agree that any dispute will be brought individually and not as a plaintiff or class member in any class, consolidated, or representative action, and each of us waives the right to a jury trial. Either of us may bring an individual claim in small-claims court instead.

15. Feedback
If you send us feedback, suggestions, or ideas about the Game, you agree that we may use them to improve or develop the Game without any obligation or compensation to you, and that such feedback is not confidential.
16. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless VidSource, LLC from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your violation of these Terms or misuse of the Game.
17. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Game at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that violates these Terms or that we believe is harmful to the Game or other users.
18. General
If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and VidSource, LLC about the Game. We may assign these Terms to a successor or acquirer of the Game; you may not assign them. Our not enforcing any part of these Terms is not a waiver of it. Sections that by their nature should survive (including Compliance Vouchers, Support Payments, Intellectual Property, Disclaimer of Warranties, Limitation of Liability, Indemnification, and Governing Law) survive termination. You agree to receive receipts, notices, and other communications from us electronically.
Privacy Policy
We collect limited information necessary to operate the Game, process Support Payments, and run the optional Employee File:
- IP address — logged when you accept these Terms and when you make a Support Payment, for fraud prevention, rate-limiting, and legal compliance.
- Payment details — collected and processed directly by Stripe, Inc.; we do not receive or store your card number. See Stripe's Privacy Policy.
- Email address (Support Payments) — collected when you make a Support Payment, used to send you a payment receipt. If you check the "Join our email list" box at checkout, we will also use it to send you occasional news about the Game; every such email includes an unsubscribe link, and you may opt out at any time.
- Email address (Employee File) — collected only if you choose to create an Employee File, so we can send you a one-time sign-in code. It is stored with our authentication provider, Supabase, Inc. If you check the "Also send me occasional game news" box, we will also use it to send you occasional news about the Game; every such email includes an unsubscribe link, and you may opt out at any time. Creating an Employee File is always optional.
- Bot check — sign-in and Employee File creation are protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, an automated check from Cloudflare, Inc. that confirms you're a person and not an automated script, and that may occasionally ask you to confirm you're a person; see Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
- Fonts — the Game's typefaces are loaded from Google Fonts, a service of Google LLC; Google receives your IP address when they load. See Google's Privacy Policy.
- Browser storage — we use your browser's local storage to save your progress and to remember that you accepted these Terms. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. Stripe and Cloudflare may set their own cookies as part of payment processing and the bot check.
- Site analytics — we use Cloudflare Web Analytics to see how many people visit the Game and roughly how, which is cookieless and does not track you individually or across other sites; visitors from the EU are excluded entirely. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
- Gameplay data — your in-Game progress, including cosmetic items acquired using Compliance Vouchers (which cannot be bought with real money — see above), is stored locally in your browser. When you start a shift we also create an anonymous account and back your progress up to our servers automatically, under an anonymous account identifier — not your name. If you add your email address to create an Employee File, that backup follows you to other computers and browsers.
- Feedback — if you submit our in-Game feedback survey, we store your responses, any free text you provide, the email address you optionally enter, and your IP address (for abuse prevention).
- Retention — Employee File data is kept until you ask us to delete it. Payment records are kept as long as tax and accounting law requires. Acceptance and feedback logs (including IP addresses) are kept for a reasonable period for fraud prevention and then deleted.
- Security & location — we use reasonable safeguards to protect your information, but no system is perfectly secure. We are based in the United States, and your information is processed and stored there. If you use the Game from elsewhere, you understand it will be transferred to the U.S.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. Questions about this Privacy Policy, including requests to delete your Employee File or the data associated with it, can be sent to [email protected].
